Lié Maminiaina

Before joining the Shamba Centre, Lié worked for 10 years towards the implementation of land, agricultural, livestock and fisheries policy on behalf of several public institutions in Madagascar.   

As part of her work for an agricultural development project, Lié was responsible for the portfolio for the agropoles, or agricultural growth zones, including the development of their legal frameworks in collaboration with experts from the International Institute for Sustainable Development. 

Lié helped develop several national strategies related to agriculture, inlcuding the National Strategy on Agribusiness, the National Strategy on Organic Agriculture and the National Strategy on the Implementation of Organic Agriculture Territories.  

She served as the Director of Orientation and Monitoring and Director of Research and Development at the National Land Fund. In this position, Lié designed and negotiated the financing for several land projects promoting agriculture with donors in Madagascar.  

Lié holds a Master's degree in private law from the University of Antananarivo and a Diploma of Inspector of Domains and Land Property from the National School of Administration in Madagascar (ENAM). Her interest in the agricultural sector is inextricably linked to the land and how it can contribute to ending of world hunger.
